Political leader and former presidential candidate, Peter Ameh has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that in just two years, Nigeria has experienced a sharp decline in governance quality.

Ameh made the comments during an interview on Channels Television from 4:49, where he drew a direct comparison between Nigeria’s current state and Argentina’s recent economic progress under President Javier Milei.

“Go and look at what Javier is doing in Argentina. Inflation rate has dropped drastically. The GDP has increased. The people are having employment in just two years in Argentina. It took only two years for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bring us to this level of poor leadership,” Ameh said.

He highlighted how, despite facing serious economic challenges, Argentina under Milei has made significant gains in stabilizing its economy, reducing inflation and boosting employment, all within a short time frame.

Ameh argued that Tinubu’s government has instead overseen a worsening of living conditions, economic hardship and increased dissatisfaction among Nigerians. According to him, it is unacceptable that while other nations are making strides with bold leadership, Nigeria appears to be regressing.

He said the comparison with Argentina proves that when leadership is focused, honest, and reform-oriented, even a short period is enough to start seeing results. He emphasized that Nigerians deserve better and should not continue to tolerate leadership that lacks direction and results.

Ameh’s comments add to the growing public criticism of the Tinubu administration’s handling of the economy and general governance. He urged Nigerians to demand accountability and look to leadership models around the world that prioritize the welfare of the people over political survival.
