Darlington Orji, a key political figure in Rivers State, has spoken out about the recent peace efforts between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike. During an interview with News Central TV, Orji shared his thoughts on the political conflict that has divided the state for months.
Orji said many people have been hoping that Governor Fubara would speak up and take steps to end the crisis. He explained that the current political situation wasn’t something the people of Rivers State wanted or voted for. According to him, the tension was caused by political games and people trying to force old alliances back together.
However, Orji praised Governor Fubara for being peace-loving and putting the lives of Rivers people first. He compared Fubara’s approach to that of former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying Fubara believes that no political position is worth the blood of any citizen.
Orji also said that if the governor is truly making efforts to talk things out and bring everyone back to the table for peace and development, then it’s a step in the right direction. He reminded everyone that all conflicts must end eventually, and now might be the time to move forward.
“We’re not going to fight to eternity, Everything that has a beginning has an end,” Orji stated. “If the governor wants to make peace and bring stakeholders together to plan the future of Rivers State, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
