Public affairs analyst and Rivers State publisher Oby Ndukwe has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of insincerity regarding his appearance at the Rivers State House of Assembly gate, claiming that the entire incident was a choreographed political spectacle.
Ndukwe speaking in an interview with TVC challenged the governor’s narrative of being barred from entering the Assembly premises. “How can a governor of a state like Rivers march to just stand before the assembly quarters and say, ‘Oh, there’s nobody to open the gate for me?'”
The analyst made a startling claim about props used during the governor’s appearance, stating, “Let me shock Nigerians. That microphone he used at the assembly gate is not even his official microphone.”
Ndukwe alleged that logistics inconsistencies expose the impromptu nature of the governor’s assembly visit: “He had a program somewhere in Ogoni that day; the advanced team had already left for Ogoni.”
She suggested that the incident was orchestrated for political reasons. “I think that the stopover they had at the assembly was just part of the game and part of the drama, maybe packaged by some persons around him. Let’s just give the impression that we want to do this thing. Because if you want to present the budget, the procedure is that there’ll be correspondence back and forth between the executive and the legislature. So, I think that was just the drama.”
