Chijioke Ihunwo, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, has spoken about Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the 27 embattled lawmakers led by Martin Amaewhule.
Speaking in a video shared by Symfoni TV from 7:43, Ihunwo Ihunwo described Governor Fubara as a kind leader who has demonstrated restraint in his conflict with the 27 lawmakers. He said that if former Governor Wike were in Fubara’s position, he would have taken stronger actions against them. He said that Fubara’s calm and kind approach is the reason he is succeeding as governor.
Ihunwo further mentioned that the 27 lawmakers are fully aware that they have lost their seats. He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize fresh elections for the vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In Ihunwo’s words: “We have a governor who is very kind, if it was Nyesom Wike those characters (27 lawmakers) will not sit down there. He will come there and chase them away. Fubara is a very kind person and that is why he is succeeding. They know that they are gone. So I want to call on INEC to conduct election and do the needful (sic)”
