Samuel Nwanosike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has attributed the emergence of Governor Sim Fubara to the unifying vision championed by former Governor Nyesom Wike.

Speaking in a live coverage by TVC from 19:05, Nwanosike explained that Fubara, who hails from a local government area with only 10 wards and an electoral base of fewer than 50,000 votes, was able to become the governor of Rivers State due to Wike’s efforts to bridge the geographical and ethnic divides within the state.

“Somebody like Sim Fubara who comes from LGA that has 10 wards and has electoral capacity of less than 50 thousand votes, and comes from a minority tribe of the Riverine area can emerge as governor because Nyesom Wike decided to say there is nothing like upland and Riverine in Rivers State, all of us are one people,” Nwanosike said.

The PDP chieftain highlighted that Fubara, who comes from a minority tribe in the Riverine area, traditionally might not have had such an opportunity to produce a governor. However, Wike’s vision of unity across both the upland and riverine areas of the state paved the way for Fubara’s rise to power.
