FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has alleged that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara previously sought reconciliation with him through the intervention of Minister of Petroleum Heineken Lokpobiri and former APC Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate David Lyon.

In a recent media parley covered by TVC from 0:28, Wike recounted the alleged meeting at his residence. “Heineken Lokpobiri with David Lyon brought him to me, and he was kneeling down, and I said, ‘No, don’t do that, you are a governor, don’t do that,” Wike recounted.

The FCT Minister claimed that after this interaction with the governor, he reneged on everything they had agreed upon. “But today, you (Fubara) go and call a meeting of the South-South Zone in your house; the Minister of FCT will not be there, the Zonal committee will not be there. The Senators will not be there, the House of Assembly members will not be there. Is that how politics is played?” Wike questioned.

He criticized what he perceives as poor political strategy, adding, “Something you can still achieve if you have the tact. You go and cause a problem for yourself, and you go and blame other people.”

Wike further accused Governor Fubara of interfering in his family affairs by removing a chief in his family and installing a replacement. The FCT Minister contended this action disrespected his status as both former state governor and current federal minister.

The accusations extended to the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), which Wike blamed for supporting Governor Fubara and conducting National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings with Governor Bala Mohammed while excluding key party stakeholders. Wike argued that the NWC is undermining the party by failing to follow established procedures.
