According to a report from The Guardian Newspaper on Wednesday, February 19, The political landscape in Rivers State is becoming increasingly fraught as allegations of financial misconduct surface against Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has emerged as a vocal critic, accusing Fubara of mismanaging state funds.

During a recent solidarity visit from the National Assembly Caucus of Rivers State, Amaewhule did not hold back in his condemnation. He stated, “The governor spends Rivers money as if it belongs to him and his family,” highlighting what he perceives as a blatant disregard for public resources. His concerns reflect a growing unease among citizens regarding governance and transparency in the state.
