Major General Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd) has highlighted the importance of using technology to tackle banditry and kidnapping in Nigeria. He shared his thoughts while discussing the recent abduction of Major General Muhammad Tsiga (rtd) and some villagers by bandits.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, General Usman explained that as he traveled from his house to the studio, he observed that there were 24 satellites positioned in different locations. He pointed out that with such advanced technology in place, it is possible to monitor and detect the movement of individuals, which would be crucial in tackling cases of kidnapping and banditry

In General Usman’s words: “We have to put our heads together, now technology is one of the key things. Before I even came to this place I checked, on my way from my house to this studio I realized there are over 24 satellites over me, so if there is anything they want to do with me they can deal with me decisively. We need to cooperate internationally because there certain things that we are lacking in this country so we have to cooperate to see how best (sic). I can assure you if it is a single individual, once he moves definitely he will be detected talkless of a situation whereby these people that were abducted are more than 8”
