Gabon-based priest, Father Kelvin, has spoken out following the killing of an Army General and the abduction of 25 schoolgirls by ISWAP.
In a Facebook post on 18th November 2025, he noted that only a day earlier, senior Nigerian Army officer and commander, Brigadier General M. Uba, had been kidnapped and killed by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
He stated that they had intercepted him, tracked his location along the Damboa–Biu axis in Borno State, and murdered him, and that the terror group had publicly announced the killing themselves and even released photos to prove their crime.
He further wrote that in the early hours of the same Monday, the 17th of November, 25 girls had been abducted from a boarding school in Kebbi State, and the school’s vice principal had been killed. He questioned whether these incidents still disturbed people, and feared that abnormalities had become normal, citing the examples of the abduction of the girls and the killing of the army general, which seemed to have been met with indifference.
He also wondered why the government was still negotiating with terrorists, and expressed concern that people’s priorities seemed to be misplaced, with other issues trending on social media instead. View, More,
