The former executive Governor of Edo State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki has reacted after he gave a speech at the York University in Ontario, Canada on Friday.

The former executive Governor of Edo State noted that he spoke frankly about the urgent need to confront elite capture, weak institutions, and failed federalism.

He shared how, in Edo, his government showed what was possible, from digital governance to creating 300,000+ jobs and transforming basic education through EdoBEST.

The former executive Governor of Edo State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki stated on his verified Facebook page on Friday; “I was honoured to speak at York University’s Harriet Tubman Institute on “Power, Policy & Statecraft in Nigeria.”

He stated further; “I spoke frankly about the urgent need to confront elite capture, weak institutions, and failed federalism.”

He added; “I shared how, in Edo, we showed what was possible, from digital governance to creating 300,000+ jobs and transforming basic education through EdoBEST.”

He noted; “To our vibrant #EdoDiaspora, I said: You cannot afford to be spectators. Be co-architects of Nigeria’s future. Strong institutions, not strong men, must lead Nigeria forward.”
