A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has commented on the ongoing leadership dispute within the party, saying the recent call for a truce by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, suggests an acknowledgment that neither side has a strong legal position.

Sani made the remarks in a video from 8:52 posted on Symfoni, where he spoke about the implications of recent court judgments relating to the PDP leadership crisis.

In the discussion, Sani described Wike as a politician known for taking a combative stance in political disputes. According to him, the minister is not typically someone who advocates reconciliation during political conflicts, which is why his recent call for a truce stood out.

He argued that Wike’s willingness to suggest a truce may indicate that those involved in the dispute recognize that their positions may lack legal strength or legitimacy.

According to him, “Knowing wike and understanding Wike, you’ll agree with me that Wike is not somebody who will call for truce because he always like to fight. Now for him to call for a truce, it’s because he’s also aware that they have no legitimacy and no authority and they have no leg to stand on just as we don’t have any leg to stand on.”
