Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu has taken to his official X account to ask about the whereabouts of the governor of Niger state, Umaru Bago.
Chidi Odinkalu’s comment came after a heavy downpour led to the death of many people in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger state.
Odinkalu made the comment after Vanguard reported that no fewer than 200 people have lost their lives while 1,000 people are still missing.
Reacting after the report surfaced online, Chidi Odinkalu empathized with the people of Niger state. He said the incident has led to the death of many people and the destruction of properties worth billions. Chidi Odinkalu said the governor of Niger state was last seen doing tourism.
According to the post that Chidi Odinkalu shared on his official X account;
“Destruction is in the significant billions. Where is the state governor? He was last seen doing tourism somewhere in the gulf”.
