Residents of CBN Estate in Wumba, Abuja, have raised alarm over what they describe as an illegal enforcement of a court order that resulted in the demolition of homes and the forceful eviction of families.
In an interview shared by TrustTV News FROM 2:54, one of the affected residents, Blessing Oziwo, narrated her ordeal during the incident.
“I met more than 50 boys at the front of my door, they were trying to break the door down. I told them to hold on, that I will open the door. Immediately I opened the door, they rushed in with me. I started fighting with them, I said go outside, I will pack my things, but they said never,” Oziwo recounted.
She explained that she pleaded with them to allow her some time to gather her belongings, but her appeals were ignored.
“There was one in pink, I had his face on camera. I told him, give me just one hour, he said it will never happen. I said even 30 or 20 minutes, let me pick my valuables first before you guys start packing my things, he said no. They were the ones who packed my things; they were moving my things outside,” she said.
Oziwo further alleged that after her belongings were moved out, some of her phones and gadgets went missing.
The demolition has sparked protests from residents, who insist that the exercise was carried out in violation of due process. See, More, Here>>>>
