The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh has stated that the police is not preventing any resident from protesting.
She made the statement on her official X handle. This statement is coming as a result of the nationwide protest that has been scheduled to hold later in the country. In the post that she shared on her page, she said the FCT Police Command has not told any resident in Abuja not to protest.
The Police Public Relations Officer stated that it is the right of every citizen to protest. She said protesters should carry the police along so that adequate security can be provided and also to prevent the protest from being hijacked by hoodlums.
She however, ended her statement by saying that the police will not condone the breakdown of law and order in the Federal Capital Territory.
Here is what she wrote on her official X handle;
“The FCT police command is not preventing any residents in the territory from protesting. It is your lawful right to protest but please carry us along so we can provide you with adequate protection and prevent the protest from being hijacked by those with inordinate motives. A breakdown of law and order in the name of protest will not be condoned in the FCT”….Seë_Morë
