According to a post by his former aide, Honourable Lere Olayinka, on July 16, 2025, Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose marked his recent court victory in a unique and heartfelt way by dining on amala with site workers.

Fayose, who recently secured a favorable judgment in his long-standing case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), chose to celebrate not with fanfare but with the everyday people he called “my family.”

The former governor was seen sitting among construction workers at a building site, enjoying a simple meal of amala and ewedu.

“This is where I find peace and joy. These are my people,” Fayose reportedly said, as shared by Olayinka.

The court’s decision marks a significant moment in Fayose’s legal journey, and his choice of celebration reflects his populist style and continued connection with grassroots supporters.

Social media users reacted positively to the images and videos of the informal celebration, praising Fayose for his humility and for standing by ordinary Nigerians even in moments of personal triumph.
