Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former presidential aide has taken to her official X handle to react after a mammoth crowd was captured storming the venue of an empowerment programme in Owerri, Imo State. According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle, she disclosed the reasons behind their actions.
Many were left stunned after a large number of persons believed to be supporters of the former governor of Anambra State and erstwhile Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stormed a campaign ground in Owerri, Imo State.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday March 14th, 2026 triggered mixed reactions from different quarters, as an empowerment programme which was being sponsored by the city boys movement turned chaotic.
Reacting, Lauretta Onochie, a prominent member of the ADC and former presidential aide in a recent statement which was shared on her official X handle, made a striking comment regarding the incident.
According to her statements, she pointed out that those who stormed the venue and disrupted the activities of the city boys movement took what rightfully belonged to them, proving that power actually belonged to the people.
The supporters, believed to be members of the village boys movement, a support group to the former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi were responsible for causing the chaos.
