Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, who used to work with President Bola Tinubu’s campaign, has openly criticized his leadership, describing him as a regional president mainly interested in the South West.
According to report from LEADERSHIP, She pointed out that a lot of money is being sent to Lagos, causing federal services to focus more on this state. She raised concerns about the unfair distribution of resources during Tinubu’s time as president, mentioning that billions are going to Lagos.
Mohammed fears that Tinubu’s actions suggest he wants to be seen as a Yoruba king, which she believes could threaten the unity of the country. She thinks this is harmful to the nation’s togetherness.
She also mentioned that Tinubu’s way of running the country shows he still has a strong hold on power in Lagos, even after he stopped being governor. She feels that no other former leader has held onto power like this, comparing him to past leaders and military rulers who didn’t maintain such control.
She said,
“He’s a regional president. Everything revolves around the South West. Billions are being pumped into Lagos, even federal agencies and functions are being moved there. No other former leader has had such a grip on power. Not even Obasanjo or any military ruler.”
