The Deputy Director-general of the Peoples Democratic Party Guber Campaign Council, Dr Don Pedro Obaseki criticized Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, for his alleged lack of a substantial legacy and accused him of relying on others for political success.
Obaseki pointed out Shaibu’s poor electoral performance in his own constituency, noting that he failed to win his unit, ward, or local government during the 2020 election.
He further alleged that Shaibu has a reputation for being associated with political thugs in Edo State, referring to him as the “grandfather of most thugs.”
Obaseki’s statement reflects a negative assessment of Shaibu’s political career and raises questions about his influence and impact within Edo State.
Don Pedro Obaseki said this while speaking in an interview on Arise TV from 8:08.
According to Don Pedro Obaseki, “Shaibu has zero legacy. Zero legacy in the sense that he had always been piggybacking on others. As a sitting deputy governor, he couldn’t win his unit. Go and check the results of the 2020 election, he could not win his ward not to talk of his Local Government which was the largest loss by the present administration in the 2020 election. The legacy he has may be an infamous one. Everybody in the state knows that he (Shaibu) is the grandfather of most thugs in the state.”
