Senator Dino Melaye, a prominent Nigerian politician and former lawmaker, has issued a scathing critique of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leadership, declaring that the party is now a shadow of its former self. In a recent tweet on his verified Twitter account, Melaye accused the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagun, and key leaders like Bature and Anyanwu, of irreparably damaging the PDP.

Melaye did not mince words in his criticism, suggesting that the party’s leadership has commercialized and privatized the PDP, leading to its downfall. “End of the road for PDP as Damagun, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party. We will talk about the commercialization and privatization of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time,” Melaye wrote.

This statement comes at a time when the PDP is grappling with internal crises and facing significant challenges in maintaining its relevance in Nigeria’s political landscape. Melaye’s remarks suggest deep dissatisfaction within the party’s ranks, as he hints at revealing more details about the alleged commercialization and privatization practices that have plagued the PDP.
