According to Daily Post, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has fired back at his detractors, warning them to stop mocking the grace of God in his life. He emphasized that those seeking irrelevant public recognition will only highlight their own fall from grace.
Speaking at an event in Port Harcourt, Fubara assured that his administration is focused on substance rather than spectacle. He stated that every project initiated by his government will be fully executed for the benefit of the public, rather than engaging in empty ceremonial groundbreakings.
Fubara specifically targeted his critics, saying, “It is only empty containers that make noise. If God has given you opportunity, eat your plantain and keep quiet. God will continue to give us the strength to do the best for our people, without fear.”
“Very soon, you will see what we are doing,” Fubara added. “It is not about doing roads for your business interests. I don’t have any business interests. Whatever I am doing, I am doing it for the people of Rivers State.”
He emphasized that his administration would not make decisions it could not defend, stressing the importance of maintaining the dignity of the state. “This state is important to us. It is the only thing that we have. It is the beautiful pride,” he remarked.
Fubara further pointed out that his opponents are struggling because of the successes his administration has achieved, particularly in improving internally generated revenue. He urged them to act with modesty rather than damaging the state.
He then issued a strong message to those frustrated by his progress: “All the Babylonians that we are seeing today, you will not see them again. God gives people time to repent, but if they continue, He will act heavily, and they will regret not leaving when they had the chance.”
Concluding, Fubara confidently noted that he doesn’t need public recognition to validate his achievements. “By the special grace of God, I don’t need introduction. I have the name, and I am the one standing here.”
