In a scathing response to recent criticisms aimed at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Dr. Nicolas Felix, the youngest presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections, has warned that former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai will soon be confronted with a detailed review of his performance while in office.
Speaking during an interview on Journalist Hangout aired by TVC News from 3:47, Felix condemned El-Rufai for aligning with opposition forces in the emerging political coalition and for his public comments criticizing the current administration’s policies and economic direction.
“We’re going to roll out his scorecard of what he did as governor in Kaduna,” Felix said, firing back at El-Rufai. “He has suddenly found his voice now, but Nigerians deserve to know what he did—or failed to do—when he held power.”
Felix accused El-Rufai of hypocrisy, arguing that the former governor’s current attacks on the federal government are fueled by personal grievances rather than national interest. According to him, El-Rufai is bitter over not being appointed to a ministerial or influential role in Tinubu’s cabinet.
“When he was with us, he sang praises of President Tinubu. Now, because he wasn’t given an appointment, he’s suddenly the loudest critic. That’s not patriotism—that’s self-interest,” Felix said.
He insisted that the APC remains committed to transparency and development, and that any attempt to undermine the party from former allies will be met with facts and accountability. “El-Rufai ruled Kaduna for eight years. We will remind him and Nigerians of everything that happened under his watch—good and bad,” he added.
Felix also questioned the sincerity of the new coalition, which reportedly includes El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, describing it as a gathering of disgruntled politicians with no coherent agenda.
“What they have in common isn’t vision—it’s bitterness. Nigerians are not going to be fooled by another alliance of ambition,” Felix declared.
He reiterated his support for President Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that the reforms and policies currently being implemented will soon yield significant national benefits.
