A former member of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign council has made serious allegations of financial impropriety against former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, claiming to possess evidence of misconduct spanning his various government positions.
Biodun Ajiboye, speaking during a candid interview on News Central TV, advised El-Rufai to maintain a lower public profile while making damaging claims about his administrative record.
“If I were to advise him—he’s about 2 years older than me or three—if I were to advise him, I would tell him silence is golden,” Ajiboye stated. “The more you react, the more you open yourself up. The more you open yourself up to ridicule, and he is now being ridiculed so much everywhere.”
The former campaign council member then made specific allegations regarding El-Rufai’s handling of public funds and resources during his tenure in various government positions.
“I have on my table here how much he mismanaged about 452 million naira in BPE,” Ajiboye claimed, referring to the Bureau of Public Enterprises. “How much he sold lands—he took land from people and sold to his cronies as FCT Minister.”
Ajiboye extended his criticisms to El-Rufai’s performance as Kaduna State Governor, alleging widespread administrative failures.
“How much he orchestrated a lot of confusion and catastrophe in Kaduna State,” he concluded.
These allegations represent the most specific accusations yet made against El-Rufai by political figures within the ruling party, though the claims have not been independently verified. The statements add another layer to the growing controversy surrounding the former governor’s recent public criticisms of the current administration.
