A Former Governor of Edo State and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole has accused the PDP in Edo State of allegedly importing outsiders in order to rig the upcoming Edo Gubernatorial elections. He warned these individuals to avoid the polling units on election day.
He declared that the upcoming Edo State election would strictly adhere to the principle of “One man, One Vote, One woman, One Vote.” He vehemently opposed any attempts to manipulate the election through technological means, pledging to prevent such actions. He also called for a moment of silence to honor a uniformed officer who was recently murdered when the APC Candidate, Monday Okpebholo came to Benin City. He highlighted that Monday Okpebholo, known for his peaceful demeanor and local dialect, should not have been the cause for such violence.
He said in a media coverage by Arise TV From 37:42, ”And let me put this on notice, the upcoming Edo State election will be One man, One Vote, One woman and One Vote. Anybody who believe that they can use technology to right the election, we will stop them. They have imported people from other states to rig the upcoming election. Those people will do well not come to the polling unit on that day.
And then again, I feel we should observe a minute silence in memory of the uniform man who was murdered in cold blood just few days back. We did say in our National anthem that we shall hand over a banner that is not stained. Now they have tried to stain our banner by killing a man in Uniform.
We also said we want to build a nation where no one is oppressed. If a policeman can be oppressed and murdered for the simple reason that Monday Okpebholo was coming to town, what will be the fate of the common man? Monday by his looks and by his dialect is a man of peace, why will you kill his bodyguard?”….Seë_Morë
