Don Pedro Obaseki, the Deputy Director-General of the PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council in Edo State, recently shared his views on the upcoming election.

During an interview on Arise TV from 16:26, Obaseki said that the people of Benin are strongly supporting Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, and he is confident about this backing. To demonstrate his certainty, Obaseki even made a bold wager on live television. He promised to pay two million naira to two Arise TV anchors if Ighodalo is not declared the winner of the election. He added that he could afford this amount.

In Pedro Obaseki’s words: “My sisters don’t believe their hype, their hype is taken from the normal APC playbook of propaganda. The people must be the recurring decimal in this election, I am on ground in Benin, the people are solidly behind Asue Ighodalo. If Asue Ighodalo doesn’t win this election and be declared so, I will owe both of you two million naira. At least I can afford to pay that”
