Human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore, has revealed that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) often complain to him in private about their poor welfare and unpaid allowances.

Speaking in a live coverage by Viable TV, Sowore noted that although the DSS frequently harasses citizens, many of its officers have secretly appealed to him to help them fight for better pay. He added that he had recently intervened in similar issues affecting the police before the DSS reached out to him behind the scenes.

According to Sowore, the officers’ actions show that even those tasked with enforcing state orders are victims of the same system they defend.

In Sowore’s words:“When we leave this place, the DSS will come and harass you. Don’t worry. They are only doing their work. Even them themselves, they are still begging me to help them fight for their salary. I just finished fighting for the police. DSS, they beg me underground. They say they don’t pay them well. They never pay them allowances.” See, More, Here>>>
