In a recent interview on Arise News from 11:58′ The Morning Show, Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party candidate, expressed his thoughts on the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo’s consistent absence from the program. When the Anchors spoke about Okpebholo’s expected appearance on the show, Akpata said, “Don’t hold your breath, he won’t show up.”
The anchors had earlier mentioned their delight in interviewing Asue Ighodalo, and Akpata’s impressive ability to switch between Pidgin and English during the conversation. Akpata humorously added that he grew up in Warri, where Pidgin is the primary language, saying, “Na Warri I grow, I think in Pidgin first.”
Arise News has been attempting to have Monday Okpebholo, the APC Gubernatorial Candidate, on The Morning Show as the Edo Governorship election approaches in September. However, he has yet to appear on the program. The anchors offered to conduct the interview in Pidgin or even bring an interpreter if Okpebholo prefers to speak in the Edo language, but Akpata’s comment suggests that Okpebholo may continue to avoid the interview.”….Vïêw–Môrê
