In a recent statement on his verified Twitter account, former Senator Shehu Sani cautioned Nigerians against harboring unrealistic expectations from Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and the owner of Dangote Group, particularly in relation to the provision of fuel.
Sani emphasized that Dangote is a businessman, not a provider of social services or charitable fuel donations, and urged the public not to view him as a “Father Christmas” for petrol.
Sani’s remarks come in the wake of widespread speculation and public anticipation regarding the impact of the Dangote Refinery on Nigeria’s energy sector. The refinery, which is one of the largest in the world, is expected to significantly reduce the nation’s dependence on imported fuel and stabilize the supply of petroleum products.
