Dele Momodu has dismissed the rumors that the PDP is trying to bring former President Goodluck Jonathan and former presidential candidate Peter Obi back into its fold as a “ploy” and a “share.” He argued that these experienced politicians are not “fools” and will not fall for what he sees as a transparent attempt to use them as distractions.
Speaking on News Central TV, he explained that the ruling party’s strategy is to divide the opposition, particularly in the North, and that bringing in figures like Jonathan would be a way to achieve that. He expressed his confidence that neither Jonathan nor Obi would be naive enough to return to a party they have already left.
According to Dele Momodu, he said, “Madam, I beg you in the name of Almighty God, don’t be deceived and don’t waste your time on a charade. It’s a charade. See, look, these guys are playing games. Goodluck Jonathan is not a fool. He knows this game… He knows that some people just want to use him to cause some distraction. They are hoping that if Jonathan comes into the race, that some people in the North will be divided. What they don’t want is a candidate in the North to have the North to himself, especially the Northeast and the Northwest.”
