According to a report by The Times of Israel on September 15, 2025, US President Donald Trump has issued a strong advisory to Israel, urging utmost caution in its dealings with Qatar amid escalating tensions involving Hamas.
Speaking candidly at Morristown Airport in New Jersey, Trump responded to a reporter’s inquiry about his thoughts on Israel’s recent military actions.
Last week, Israel launched strikes targeting key Hamas leaders who were located in Qatar, but these operations ultimately fell short of neutralizing the intended targets.
Trump emphasized the delicate balance Israel must navigate. He stated directly that Israel needs to exercise extreme care in its approach.
While acknowledging the pressing need for Israel to counter the threats posed by Hamas, Trump highlighted Qatar’s valuable role as a steadfast ally to the United States.
In his words, “My message is that they have to be very, very careful. They have to do something about Hamas, but Qatar has been a great ally to the United States.”
This partnership, he noted, has been instrumental in regional stability efforts.
The president’s remarks come on the heels of a significant diplomatic engagement.
Just days earlier, on Friday, Trump hosted Qatar’s ruler, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, for a private dinner.
During this meeting, Trump praised al-Thani personally, describing him as a truly wonderful individual.
He went further to advise al-Thani on enhancing Qatar’s image on the global stage.
Trump pointed out that Qatar requires improved public relations strategies, as public perceptions often paint an unfairly negative picture of the nation.
He asserted that such criticism is unwarranted and that Qatar deserves better acknowledgment for its contributions.
This intervention underscores Trump’s ongoing commitment to fostering alliances in the Middle East. See, More, Here>>>>
Qatar has long served as a mediator in complex conflicts, including those involving Hamas, and has hosted high-level talks that benefit US interests.
