In a recent video on Al Jazeera Tv from 7:33, President Donald Trump delivered remarks highlighting what he described as a renewed era of American global respect, citing military alliances, international trade agreements, and diplomatic achievements.
“On the world stage, America is respected again like it has never been respected before,” Trump said. “You think about two years ago, three years ago, four years ago, or one year ago, we were a laughingstock all over the world.”
He pointed to NATO reforms as a major accomplishment during his tenure. “At the NATO summit in June, virtually all NATO members formally committed to increased defense spending,” he explained. “At my request, from 2% to 5% of GDP, making our alliance far stronger and more powerful than it was ever before.”
Trump also emphasized U.S. engagement in the Middle East, stressing renewed partnerships with Gulf nations. “In May, I traveled to the Middle East to visit my friends and rebuild our partnerships in the Gulf,” he said. “And those valued relationships with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE and other countries are now, I believe, closer than ever before.”
Turning to international trade, the former president listed a series of agreements reached under his administration. “My administration has negotiated one historic trade deal after another, including with the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and many, many others,” he stated.
Trump also claimed that his administration achieved unprecedented progress in ending international conflicts. “Likewise, in a period of just seven months, I have ended seven unendable wars. They said they were unendable. You’re never going to get them solved. Some were going for 31 years. Two of them 31. Think of it. 31 years. One was 36 years. One was 28 years. I ended seven wars.”
He listed specific regions where he said peace agreements or ceasefires had been brokered. “And in all cases, they were raging with countless thousands of people being killed. This includes Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Congo and Rwanda, a vicious violent war that was Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Trump said.
