In a recent development, former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his verified Twitter account to comment on the public clarification made by Mele Kyari, the CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), in response to allegations from Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group.

Dangote had accused some NNPC workers of establishing a blending plant in Malta, allegedly obstructing the procurement of locally produced petroleum products.

Shehu Sani’s brief but pointed reaction, “Clarification from the CEO NNPCL,” indicates his acknowledgment of Kyari’s efforts to address the controversy and dispel any misunderstandings arising from Dangote’s claims.

Mele Kyari issued a detailed statement on his verified Twitter account, categorically denying any involvement in the establishment or operation of any blending plant, either directly or by proxy, anywhere in the world. Kyari also stated that he was unaware of any NNPC employee owning or operating such a plant in Malta or elsewhere globally. He emphasized that such a plant, if it existed, would have no influence over NNPC’s business operations and strategic actions.

Kyari assured stakeholders of the NNPC’s commitment to transparency and integrity, stating that the corporation’s stringent compliance and sanction grid would apply to any employee found to be involved in such activities. He also called for the public naming and reporting of any implicated individuals to relevant government security agencies due to the serious implications for national energy security.

Sani’s reaction emphasizes the significance of Kyari’s clarification in the broader context of Nigeria’s energy sector, which faces heightened scrutiny and the need for sustainable and ethical practices….Seë_Morë
