Labour Party, LP candidate in the Lagos state 2023 governorship election, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour has stated that the sum of $100 million could have improved the Ibeju Lekki Community and its environs.
He made the statement on his official X handle on Monday. His statement is coming after Nigerian businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote stated that he paid $100 million to the Lagos state government to acquire the land for his refinery.
Responding to the claim, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour stated that the money could have been invested in dikes and mechanical drainage systems to manage the impact of floods. He also said part of the money could have built a tram to connect Ibeju all the way to CMS.
Here is what he wrote on his official X handle;
“Imagine what $100 million could have done for the Ibeju Lekki community and environs. These communities have the worst set of roads and other basic infrastructure, poor health care services, and low investments in human capital development. That money could have been invested in dikes and mechanical drainage systems to manage the impact of floods”….Seë_Morë
