Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of Church of Christ Nations, has alleged that former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Betta Edu was removed from office because she supported victims of terrorist violence in Plateau and Benue states.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV from 25:26, Reverend Dachomo suggested that Edu’s removal was politically motivated. “And do you know why the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs that was removed by the present government? Betta Edu was removed because she was able to mobilize and bring materials to the IDPs as directed by the president. When she brought the last one, I don’t know what happened after and they said she had done something. There’s a gimmick controlled by those with evil agenda in Aso Rock,” he said.
The clergy acknowledged that Edu may have had shortcomings but argued that her mistakes were minor compared to those of officials who remain in government. “Maybe Betta Edu has her shortcoming, but I know her shortcoming cannot be compared with those that are working with the President to destroy this nation, but they are not removed,” he stated.
The clergy suggested that while official reasons were given for her dismissal, the actual motivation was her success in providing relief to victims of violence in affected communities. View, More,
