Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, has given his take on plans to unseat the president.

According to reports, the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi; the former governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai; the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar; and other coalition leaders have adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.

However, during an interview with Channels Television, Peter Obi maintained that he still remains a member of the Labour Party (LP) and that his involvement in the coalition is strictly for the 2027 presidential election.

The former governor gave an illustration, stating that he cannot abandon his breakfast and lunch all because he wants to be part of someone’s dinner.

According to the video, “I want to be part of your dinner in the evening, doesn’t mean that I should abandon my breakfast and lunch”.
