The outgoing Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has officially handed over leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the new CDS, General Oluyede, during a ceremony held at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

According to a video shared by ESET TV from 12.16 , in his farewell speech, General Musa urged the new service chiefs and all officers to give their full support and cooperation to General Oluyede, so they can work together as a strong team. He reminded them that the job ahead is challenging but said he believes that with unity and determination, the armed forces will achieve even greater success in protecting the nation.

General Musa also expressed his confidence in his successor, saying, “Gen Oluyede, you have my utmost confidence and best wishes. I’m only a phone call away should you ever need any counsel.” He encouraged the officers to remain loyal, dedicated, and hardworking under the new leadership.

Speaking emotionally, General Musa said he was leaving the position fulfilled and grateful for the opportunity to serve his country. He shared that even though he is retiring from active military service, his love and commitment to Nigeria will never end.

“I might be retiring, but my commitment to Nigeria remains unshakeable,” he said, adding that he would continue to pray for the success of the armed forces and for peace and unity in the nation.

General Musa ended his speech with a heartfelt message, saying he would miss his colleagues but remain with them in spirit as they continue the mission of protecting Nigeria. View, More,
