Kola Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has raised concerns over what he describes as unconstitutional practices within the party’s leadership structure.

Speaking during an interview with Arise Television from 04:10, Ologbondiyan criticised the actions of Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, insisting that key decisions affecting the party must originate from the National Working Committee (NWC), not be imposed unilaterally or through external influence.

The words of Ologbondiyan at some point during the interview read, “To start with, the day-by-day working of the party rests with the National Working Committee; we must establish that. It is the NWC that decides what happens to the party.”

He went on to further state that “now if the party under Damagum had such a decision to take, he cannot take a decision upon which the national executive committee has decided. He cannot flank himself with anybody.”

“Bukola Saraki, who has been charged with the responsibility of ensuring we have a successful National Executive Council, which we had already on May 27, and to also see that we can do a convention, cannot come and sit in the Wadata Plaza acting as a member of the working committee without Damagum, who is the chairman of the working committee, discussing with his own members and arriving at a decision,” Ologbondiyan added.
