Public Affairs Analyst Dr. Majeed Dahiru has faulted the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) for asking President Donald Trump to retract his comments about genocide against Christians, accusing the organization of insensitivity to Christian victims of terrorism.

Speaking in an interview with Nigerian Info FM from 3:24, Dr. Dahiru contrasted Muslim community reactions to violence against Muslims with their response to Trump’s statements about Christian persecution. “16 northern Muslim hunters were killed in Uromi because their identity was mistaken to be bandits. The entire Muslim North was up in arms against the Edo state government and its people. It took the governor of Edo to go and practically kneel down to appease both the family, the state government, and other critical stakeholders in the North for the killing of 16 people. The North took special exception to it,” he said.

Dr. Dahiru questioned why the NSCIA did not characterize the Edo incident as part of Nigeria’s general insecurity crisis but objects to international concern about attacks on Christians.

The political analyst’s comments came in response to the NSCIA’s claim that American allegations of Christian persecution represent a deliberate attempt to destabilize Nigeria.

Dr. Dahiru argued that Muslim organizations display double standards by demanding accountability when Muslims are killed while dismissing similar concerns about violence against Christians as foreign interference. View, More,
