Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere, a federal lawmaker, has alleged that despite a recent court judgment, Honourable Oko Jumbo remains the legitimate speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He emphasized that the appeal court judgment will be appealed by the Pro-Fubara lawmakers.
He stated that the Wike’e group has reneged on their commitment to a peace accord by the President. He argued that the FCT Minister faction had expressed insincerity and lack of desire for peaceful resolution to Rivers state crisis. He stated how they have prevented local government elections, blocked the swearing-in of a chairman, and hindered the passage of the budget.
He said in an interview with TVC from 0:39, “The Court Judgment does not change anything. Hon. Oko Jumbo remains the speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly. It will be appealed, but it is important to understand the deceitful and criminal mindset of these people. You go into a peace accord and then secretly continue the matter even when the other party has withdrawn.
So, it’s important that people know Fubara has never been the aggressor. It is always the Wike group that does not want peace. They do not want local government elections, and they do not want a chairman to be sworn in. They also do not want a budget to be passed.”….Sêe _ Morê
