According to a report by Punch News on Saturday, October 25, 2025, Evangelist Ezekiel Dachomo, the Plateau-based cleric and regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations, has spoken candidly about the personal risks he faces while defending his community against ongoing attacks in Plateau State. Dachomo revealed that “My life is in grave danger. Even as I speak, I am on the lookout for any possible attacks.” He has been targeted multiple times, with threats to his life and attempts on his safety becoming a constant concern.
In an interview with Olufemi Adediran, Dachomo explained that the region has been plagued by repeated assaults on Christian communities, including killings, kidnappings, and destruction of property. He described how his own family has suffered, recounting the deaths of his grandmother and uncle in brutal attacks, and how he now lives in constant vigilance, never sleeping with his eyes fully closed. Despite the threats, Dachomo emphasized that he will continue to speak out and advocate for justice for his people.
Dachomo also criticized the Nigerian government for what he sees as inaction and bias, noting that perpetrators of attacks often go unpunished while victims are left defenseless. He highlighted the persistent nature of these assaults, stating that villages are frequently raided, with children and women targeted, crops destroyed, and people forced to flee for survival. The cleric accused the government of protecting attackers while punishing those who defend themselves, further worsening the situation for Christian communities.
Despite the dangers, Dachomo affirmed his unwavering commitment to his faith and his people.
