According to a viral video that was posted on the official X account of NEWS CENTRAL on Monday, the former governor of Rivers state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has explained how he revoked Julius Berger’s land.
In the video, the FCT Minister said the first time he saw the land, it was empty. He said he made enquiry and he was told that Julius Berger owned it. Nyesom Wike said he invited MD of Julius Berger and he honoured the invitation. He said they had dinner and the following day, he saw revocation letter.
According to Nyesom Wike;
“When we were looking for where to get a land to build and I was driving round looking for an empty land. I saw a land with a big post; Julius Berger. I didn’t talk, I called the Director of Lands and asked that who owns the land and they said Julius Berger. I said when was it allocated, they said about 15-20 years ago.
“I invited the MD of Julius Berger, he came and we had dinner, I didn’t talk about the land. The next day, he saw revocation letter”.
