The Nigerian Army has reacted to the claim of one of the youth leaders in Jos that some soldiers protected terrorists who attacked them in the community.

The reaction of the Nigerian Army was contained in a post that was shared on its official X handle on March 31, 2026.

This is coming after PUNCH reported that some terrorists stormed Angwan Rukuba area in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state and opened fire on several residents.

However, the Nigerian Army has now stated that the claim that was made by the youth leader that some of the terrorists were protected is not true. The Nigerian Army said as soon as the incident happened, several troops were deployed to the scene. The Nigerian Army said the narrative is misleading and should be disregarded by the general public.
