During a recent interview from 17:25 on Channels Television, Professor Udenta expressed serious concerns regarding the credibility of the current INEC Chairman, Professor Amupitan, especially with the general elections just a year away.

According to Professor Udenta, the perception surrounding the electoral body is increasingly troubling, raising doubts about the integrity of upcoming elections.

“In his words,” Professor Udenta said, “A year before election this INEC Chairman has lost credibility, do you know what is going to happen when you have not even held an election and people are telling you get out of your place, you have been procured and curated to serve a specific interest, that election could be meaningless, nobody would accept it.”

He emphasized that the issue is not merely about opinion but about the widespread lack of confidence in the leadership of INEC. Professor Udenta argued that when citizens perceive that the chairman has been placed to serve particular interests, the foundation of the electoral process is severely weakened.
