In a fiery accusation, U.S. Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) has taken to social media to allege that officials within the Biden-Harris administration are committing treason by leaking sensitive U.S. intelligence to Iran.
In a tweet, Mast pointed to his longstanding concerns about a senior Department of Defense (DOD) official, claiming that this individual had been involved in an Iranian influence campaign for over a year.
“It’s no surprise Biden-Harris officials are committing treason by leaking U.S. Intelligence to Iran,” Mast wrote. “I flagged over a year ago that there is a senior official within the DOD who was part of an Iranian influence campaign.”
Mast’s allegations come amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, particularly regarding intelligence and military operations in the Middle East. His statement has raised alarms about national security and the possibility of compromised information reaching hostile foreign powers.
The claim has yet to be substantiated by evidence, and the Biden administration has not officially responded to these serious allegations. However, the issue adds to the mounting criticism the administration faces from Republicans over its handling of foreign policy, particularly in the Middle East.
