According to a post on her official handle dated 30 July 2025, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Bianca Ojukwu, arrived at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana, where she held a crucial meeting with the Inspector-General of Police of Ghana.

It was revealed that the visit comes in response to growing tensions and widespread protests in parts of Ghana, where Nigerian nationals have reportedly been targeted following a series of criminal incidents blamed on foreign nationals.

The protests have sparked deep concern within Nigeria’s diplomatic circles, prompting urgent efforts to engage with Ghanaian authorities at the highest level.

She assured that the Federal Government is monitoring the situation closely and is prepared to take necessary measures to protect Nigerian citizens abroad.

The Nigerian Embassy in Ghana has also been directed to provide immediate support to affected individuals, while further diplomatic engagements are expected in the coming days.
