General Alabi Isama has stated that during the Nigerian Civil War, his mother found a way to send him supplies while he was serving as the Chief of Staff of the 3rd Marine Commando Division. He said his mother went to Kingsway, a store in Lagos, and bought a full container of goods.
In an exclusive interview with Edmund Obilo, General Isama said the goods were packed onto a DC-9 aircraft and flown directly to the warfront for him.

In Isama’s words: “My mother went to Kingsway and bought the container that they got, they loaded a DC-9 full and brought it to the warfront, a whole plane. Then I told the photographer if I do like this just take my photo”
