One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after Presidential guard Commander was arrested for attempting to remove the democratically elected President of Benin Republic, Patrice Talon.
According to Channels TV, Benin prosecutors has stated that three prominent men including a presidential guard commander have been arrested on suspicion of planning a “coup d’etat” in the small West African nation.
Elonm Mario Metonou, the special prosecutor at Benin’s court for financial crimes and terrorism, was quoted as saying that;
“It appears the Republican Guard commander in charge of the president’s security was engaged by the minister Oswald Homeky and Olivier Boko in order to carry out a coup by force on September 27, 2024″.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, he said please don’t do it.
