Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy has reacted to report stating that the price of a basket of tomatoes has dropped from N150,000 to N60,000.
His reaction was contained on his official X handle on Monday.
According to THE CABLE, traders in Ketu and Berger in Lagos state have confirmed that the price of a basket of tomatoes has dropped amid new harvests.
The report further stated that a trader at Ketu market said a big basket of tomatoes is currently selling for about N55,000 to N60,000 down from an average of N150,000 a few months ago. Additionally, a crate of tomatoes that previously cost N55,000 is now being sold for N30,000.
Reacting to the report, Bayo Onanuga said food inflation is coming down as prices of yam, tomatoes decline massively.
