The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga has reacted to report saying that the federal government has introduced cybersecurity levy.

His reaction was contained on his official X handle on Friday.

In the post that he shared on his page, he said the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has not introduced the cybersecurity levy.

He however, went further to share a statement that was released by the Central Bank of Nigeria debunking the report.

Part of the statement says;

“The attention of the Central Bank of Nigeria has been drawn to certain instances of misinterpretation or misrepresentation of its biennial publication on Monetary, Credit, Foreign Trade and Exchange Policy Guidelines published on September 17, 2024. In response, the CBN has temporarily withdrawn the document to minimize risk of any further misrepresentation”.
