Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy has taken to his official X handle to react after the coup plotters led by Colonel Pascal Tigri were declared wanted by the Benin Republic authorities. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the identities of Colonel Tigri’s accomplices were disclosed.
The failed military coup staged by Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri in Benin Republic generated mixed reactions from different quarters after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The soldier, who led other mutineers in the failed attempt to dislodge president Talon was declared wanted by the Benin Republic authorities.
This was contained in a recent post by Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy to president Bola Tinubu on his official X handle.
From the photos which Bayo Onanuga shared, the other wanted soldiers alongside Colonel Pascal Tigri were Captain Ousmane Samary and Captain Sambieni Castro.
These were same individuals that took over the national television after a failed shootout at the presidential residence. The declaration has however, sparked massive reactions from the general public.
It can be recalled that in a bid to restore peace and order in Benin Republic, the Nigerian armed forces deployed fighter jets to haunt the coup plotters, an operation which ultimately neutralized their threat.
