Hakeem Baba Ahmed, former Arewa Publicity Secretary and former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has alleged that terrorist groups are attempting to establish control over vast territories across West and Central Africa.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV from 18:24, Baba Ahmed warned about efforts to create a regional terrorist headquarters. “There are attempts by interests to take over huge territory—part of Nigeria, part of Chad, part of Cameroon, part of Niger—and turn it into the global headquarters of terror. Those in intelligence circles know this. I’m saying this publicly now. A lot of people know this. We must never allow that kind of thing to happen. We don’t want to live under ISWAP. We don’t want to live under Boko Haram. We don’t want to live under Lakurawa. We don’t want to live under IPOB nor do we want to live under the Americans,” he said.

Despite his concerns about American threats, Baba Ahmed identified the importance of maintaining the Nigeria-U.S. relationship.

The former presidential adviser suggested constructive ways America could assist Nigeria, including imposing sanctions on corrupt leaders rather than policies that harm ordinary citizens.

According to Baba Ahmed, hostile American actions that divide Nigerians against each other represent the worst possible approach to addressing the country’s challenges. He argued that genuine friendship requires supportive engagement rather than military intervention that could destabilize the nation further. View, More,
